Open Enrollment now closed-Important Next Steps

Dear Team,

Thank you to everyone who completed open enrollment in a timely manner. We appreciate your attention and cooperation throughout the process.

Why Active Enrollment Is Required Each Year

We have received feedback from employees asking why benefit elections cannot automatically roll over from year to year. While automatic enrollment would be ideal from an administrative standpoint, it is not a workable option for our benefit plans.

A significant portion of our employees are enrolled in the Health Savings Account (HSA) or the Flexible Spending Account ( FSA), which requires annual elections under IRS and plan rules.

To ensure accuracy and remain compliant, the Company requires active benefit elections from all employees each year. This ensures everyone has the opportunity to review their options, confirm their selections, and make informed decisions for the upcoming plan year.

Now that open enrollment has concluded, there are a few important items that each employee is responsible for reviewing.

January Paycheck Review
When you receive your first January paycheck, please carefully review your benefit deductions to ensure all elections were applied correctly. This includes confirming that:

This is the appropriate time to review and double-check your elections to ensure there were no errors or unintended selections.

Your Responsibility
It is each employee’s responsibility to review their paycheck and benefit elections for accuracy. If you notice any discrepancies or believe something was elected in error, you must contact HR as soon as possible so the issue can be reviewed and corrected.

Non-Participation in Open Enrollment
As communicated at the start of open enrollment, employees who did not complete their benefit elections by the deadline were processed as having declined coverage for the plan year.

HSA Contributions – Important Reminder
Employees enrolled in the HSA who are making contributions outside of payroll must notify Payroll. Payroll does not have visibility into outside HSA contributions. If outside contributions have already caused you to reach the annual IRS limit, payroll deductions may still attempt to process.

Thank you again for your participation in open enrollment and for taking the time to review your benefits.
